Dr Aalbertus Versteeg

Aalbertus Johannes (Bart) Versteeg obtained his MSc in 2012 from the VU University in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. After obtaining his MSc he conducted a PhD studying sexual transmitted Chlamydia trachomatis infections covering multiple topics including pathogen genetics, molecular epidemiology, diagnostics and host-pathogen interaction. He joined the LSHTM trachoma group in 2017 to investigate potential transmission routes of ocular C. trachomatis infections in Ethiopia.
