Barbara Häsler is an animal health researcher at the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) in London and the London Centre for Integrative Research on Agriculture and Health (LCIRAH), with expertise in animal health economics, evaluation and food systems. Her main area of interest is the integration of economic, social and epidemiological aspects in animal disease mitigation to provide practical and feasible tools that support decision-makers in the efficient allocation of resources. She graduated in veterinary medicine from the University of Bern, holds a PhD in animal health economics, and a certificate of higher education in economics. She has managed and participated in various international projects in Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia and held several grants in the field of Agrihealth and One Health, including work on rabies, brucellosis, and, more recently, schistosomiasis as part of Joanne Webster’s group at the RVC. She likes to promote an awareness for the interconnectedness of the health of people, animals and the environment and the use of systems based approaches to promote better health for all.
